On January 27, Kew students attended Telus workshops on Online Safety:
Grades 2-5: "TELUS Wise footprint" designed to help youth learn that everything we do online leaves a digital footprint and we all have a role to play in being good digital citizens.
Grade 6: "TELUS Wise In Control" on cyberbullying, online reputation and privacy & security

In our annual parent and caregiver surveys, you've told us two of your top parenting concerns are online safety and access to smartphones.
Kew Beach has recently joined local schools like Adam Beck, Balmy Beach, Coucelette and Williamson Road to set up the Unplugged Canada voluntary pledge to delay smart phones until age 14.
For those parents and caregivers interested in learning more about this strength-in-numbers initiative and potentially joining the 500+ local families that have already pledged since January 2025, visit the site linked on the right.
